The Abduction of Nicolás Maduro
Following the presidential election results in Caracas on July 29, 2024, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro won reelection with 51.2 percent of votes cast Sunday, the electoral council announced, after a campaign tainted by claims of opposition intimidation and fears of fraud. Source
This is astonishing. I can scarcely think of a more blatant example of lawlessness supported by lies than the official story of the capture and abduction of Nicolás Maduro. Let’s first look at “the official narrative”, a story gleaned from reports by the US Congress, the White House and various media sources. This narrative is a tale of courage, bravery, intelligence, intense planning, good fortune, and much more.

If ever a regime deserved changing, it was surely Venezuela. According to Marco Rubio, “Maduro is NOT the President of Venezuela and his regime is NOT the legitimate government. Maduro is the head of the Cartel de los Soles, a narco-terror organization that has taken possession of a country.” [1] He claimed Maduro “sits atop a corrupt, illegitimate government” and leverages power to “protect and promote illegal activity”. [2] The “illegitimate dictator” Maduro was “the kingpin of a vast criminal network” that was responsible for trafficking “colossal amounts of deadly and illicit drugs into the US”. [3] But further, Maduro was personally the overseer of “the vicious and dreaded cartel”, which “flooded the US with lethal poison”. US Attorney-General Precious Pam Bondi told us that Maduro, “the world’s largest narco-trafficker”, was working “with other cartels” to flood the US with – (you won’t believe this) – “fentanyl-laced cocaine”. [4]
According to the White House, Maduro was responsible for countless thousands of American deaths. Donald Trump confided that Maduro “destabilised the entire American hemisphere”, and – even worse – was “working with foreign powers” while doing it. If that weren’t bad enough, Maduro – and his wife!! – participated in “narco-terrorism conspiracies”. It’s hardly a surprise that Precious Pam said they would face “the full wrath of American justice”.
Pete Hegseth, the criminally-insane war-monger who loves Jesus, was full of praise for Donald Trump who, according to Hegseth, was “deadly serious about stopping the flow of gangs and violence to our country”. I was surprised to learn this. I knew the part about the drugs, but I didn’t know that Maduro and his wife were also shipping gangs and violence into the US. Hegseth also revealed that, in addition to shipping drugs, gangs and violence into the US, there was also a large flow of “poison” emanating from Maduro that apparently floated from Venezuela into the United States. [5]
They tried to slow this man down by using the dreaded “American Rule of Law” to seize nearly $1 billion in Venezuelan assets, including the country’s central bank reserves and two government passenger aircraft. They also seized 7 tons of “Maduro’s” cocaine, [6] which the CIA could then sell on the street. At around $200 a gram, that 7 tons would produce about $150 million in expense-free revenue. [7] I didn’t know this before, but crime-fighting is a profit center.

Based in Venezuela, the Cartel de los Soles is headed by Nicolás Maduro and other high-ranking individuals of the illegitimate Maduro regime who have corrupted Venezuela’s military, intelligence, legislature, and judiciary. Neither Maduro nor his cronies represent Venezuela’s legitimate government. Cartel de los Soles by and with other designated FTOs including Tren de Aragua and the Sinaloa Cartel are responsible for terrorist violence throughout our hemisphere as well as for trafficking drugs into the United States and Europe.” [8]

However, their feeble efforts to dethrone this grievously wicked “Leftist leader”, came to naught, and Donald Trump offered a $50 million reward for Maduro’s capture. [9] The reward began at $15 million under Joe Biden, increased to $25 million under Trump, then doubled to $50 million [10] in a final attempt to eliminate this human plague from Venezuela. [11] Bondi made a gleeful video announcing the reward, claiming that “Maduro will not escape justice”, and that “he will be held accountable for his despicable crimes”. I was surprised that nobody mentioned Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu in this context of being held accountable for despicable crimes. Maybe that will come later.

This appears to have been one time when the US actually planned something before execution. This was “Operation Absolute Resolve”, which, like Hallowe’en, begins after dark. The AP has a good summary of the story of Maduro’s abduction. [12] “Months of covert planning led to the “brazen overnight operation”. As an indication of their “extensive planning”, Trump claimed they actually built an entire replica of Maduro’s presidential compound, one protected by steel plates and gates, and practiced on it for months. Trump said, “They actually built a house which was identical to the one they went into with all that steel all over the place”.
While the US was openly using its warships and aircraft to destroy small fishing boats in the Caribbean (and machine-gunning the survivors), something secret was happening. The CIA covertly installed a small team inside Venezuela to track Maduro’s patterns and movements, his exact locations. The team apparently included a mole operating inside the Venezuelan government, assisting the CIA with tracking Maduro’s location and movements. They learned “how he moved, where he went, what he ate, what he wore, and where he slept.” Reports tell us that US intelligence agencies carefully studied Venezuela’s “authoritarian” President, learning minute details while the very brave US marines rehearsed a plan to forcibly abduct him. [13] [14] According to the UK Daily Mail, the CIA’s (mole) team in Venezuela provided sufficient information about Maduro’s patterns to make his abduction “seamless”. [15] In one news conference, Trump said War Secretary Pete Hegseth, General Dan Caine and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, would be a team that’s “working with the people of Venezuela”. More later.
American forces gathered in the region of Caracas, waiting for ideal weather conditions so the hundreds of pilots had clear routes into the city. Trump said the operation was delayed for four days, waiting for the cloud cover to pass. Finally, “the weather broke just enough, clearing a path that only the most skilled aviators in the world could move through”. “The helicopters flew low to the water (to avoid radar, of course) to enter Venezuela and were covered above by protective fighter aircraft.” [16] “When they arrived, the US marines immediately plunged Caracas into darkness.” Trump said the operation was “dark and deadly”, and that “the lights of Caracas were turned off due to a certain expertise that we have”. “The US also deployed cyberwarfare tactics to help clear a path for its teams operating in the sky and on the ground.” [17]
The Great Discombobulator
Donald Trump also boasted of the US military deploying a secret “discombobulator” weapon. He claimed it disabled not only the population, but all Venezuela’s military defenses, and also that it could render useless all of the military defenses of both Russia and China. [18] Trump refused to provide details, telling NBC News “I’m not allowed to talk about it, but let me just tell you, you know what it does? None of their equipment works, that’s what it does. Everything was discombobulated”. [19] MSN ran an article titled “What is this mysterious ‘Discombobulator’ that neutralized Venezuela” [20] APF [21] and The Defense Post [22] also ran articles on it. AFP wrote that Trump boasted about a secret US weapon that can “block all Russian and Chinese defense systems”. He claimed that “They even talk about the discombobulator (in Venezuela), because they never got a shot off. The Russian equipment didn’t work. The Chinese equipment didn’t work. Everyone’s trying to figure out why it didn’t work.” [23]
According to CNN, once Trump gave his approval, US military aircraft took off from “20 bases” to bomb Venezuelan air defense systems, and provide cover for the helicopters carrying out the “extraction”. [24] The 300 US aircraft dropped lots of bombs, and we know this because the AP reported seven explosions in Caracas, and apparently some Venezuelans were killed (not confirmed). According to Trump, the marines were armed with “massive blowtorches” in case the steel walls of a safe room needed to be cut open to extract Maduro. They entered the space, and kidnapped Maduro and his wife – and “whisked” them to the United States. Hegseth claimed this was a “massive joint military and law enforcement raid” that required only 30 minutes. Maduro and his wife were flown by helicopter to a US warship, then taken to New York. [25] General Caine said that the great success of “Operation Absolute Resolve” was the culmination of “months” of planning and rehearsals involving 150 aircraft and thousands of military and intelligence personnel.

“Huddled in a draped-off room at Mar-a-Lago around screens set up for his viewing pleasure President Donald Trump watched and listened as highly trained American Delta Force soldiers rushed into Nicolás Maduro’s home in Caracas, where the Venezuelan leader was sleeping alongside his wife. Trump watched the complex capture play out in real time from a room in Mar-a-Lago alongside military generals.” “If you would have seen what happened, I mean, I watched it literally, like I was watching a television show,” he mused later, calling into Fox News. “If you would have seen the, the speed, the violence … it was an amazing thing, amazing job that these people did. There’s nobody else could have done anything like it,” Trump added. [27]
Look at the above photo again. You have seen this before. The setting was different and the actors have changed, but the photo is essentially the same. Do you remember this photo below?

This was the widely-publicised official photo of the White House room during the supposed killing of Osama bin Laden. Then-President Obama, Hillary Clinton and about a dozen White House and Military staff gathered in front of what purported to be a TV screen, all watching “by special satellite link” the live action by the SEAL team in bin Laden’s compound. When experts quickly detailed this as a ridiculous impossibility, the White House abandoned the claim but the fake photo will exist forever. Initially, the White House claimed they had live video but chose not to release it but, given the ridiculously-shaky story, Obama had to admit there was no video and that the entire White House “Bin Laden Situation Room” photo session was indeed a fake. Neither Obama nor Clinton ever apologised for this astonishing lie. I covered this in detail in a prior article titled “The Death of Osama bin Laden” [28] You really should read it because the similarity to the abduction of Maduro is striking. Juvenile, and perhaps comical, but still an unforgivable lie.
You know the Trump photo is a gaslighting fraud. All you have to do is think. The only way the “Maduro Situation Room” could be real, would be by ground video recordings being transmitted to a satellite link. But satellite communications are line-of-sight; if the antenna isn’t perfectly pointed to the satellite and programmed to rotate its position to follow the moving satellite precisely, there can be no communication. Now, you have a group of marines in the middle of a risky mission in a hostile environment, planning to kidnap and abduct the President of a country. You are scrambling through courtyards, crawling under bushes, kicking in doors. But you are carrying a TV camera to film all the action, and the satellite antenna you are also carrying on your back, is magically remaining aligned with the satellite that is moving 500 Kms above you while you are moving through the bushes. You know that can’t happen. The Maduro Situation Room is just another Donald Trump lie. He copied it from envy of Hillary Clinton.
The Non-Existent Cartel

The original indictment against Maduro mentioned an astonishing 32 times the infamous and dreaded drug/terrorism “Cartel de los Soles”, stating repeatedly that Maduro was their leader. But then the CIA stated bluntly and openly that there was no such organisation, that the term was merely a slang expression in Venezuela. The White House finally admitted the group did not in fact exist, and substantially modified their charges against Maduro. The New York Times detailed this in an article. [29] This deleted charge was perhaps the most damning accusation against Maduro, forming the entire basis of his “arrest”. Now that the US Justice Department has quietly dropped this lie, effectively admitting it was a fabrication, it becomes more evident that the entire Venezuela affair was based on lies. Articles in Salon [30] and the UK Telegraph [31] discussed how the DoJ has quietly admitted the “cartel” isn’t real, and many experts have stated that the abduction of Maduro “had nothing to do with drugs”. [32]
“The U.S. Justice Department has now quietly dropped this lie, implicitly admitting it was a fabrication. The entire U.S. war is based on lies. It never had anything to do with drugs. Venezuela’s role in the global cocaine trade is small and insignificant, and it has absolutely nothing to do with fentanyl, which is actually responsible for many drug-related deaths in the US, unlike cocaine.” “The Trump administration’s repeated invocation of the fake ‘Cartel de los Soles’ was its version of the WMD lie used by George W. Bush to try to justify his illegal invasion of Iraq. Both U.S. wars were colonial wars of aggression and pillage, based on lies.” [33]
“From the Alien Enemies Act to warships off Caracas, the US narrative around the so-called Cartel de los Soles looks like a new “Weapons of Mass Destruction” playbook. How does the United States government go from a legitimate concern for the entry of drugs into the country to sending seven US warships and one nuclear-powered submarine, to encircle Venezuela for an “enhanced counter-narcotics operation”? [Illicit] drugs are carted through the Pacific Ocean and not the Caribbean Sea. So, what are these warships doing off Venezuela’s coastline? The massive military build-up near Venezuela, the increased reward for the arrest of Maduro, and the accusation that the Venezuelan government is linked to the [cartels] provides the foundation for a classic political/military intervention against Venezuela in the name of the War on Drugs. The idea of the Cartel de los Soles is functioning precisely like the “Weapons of Mass Destruction” fabrication to justify the invasion of Iraq in 2002-03. Simply put, the US administration was desperate to find a cause for war that did not exist.” [34]
Why no Defenses?
Trump did not rule out US military boots on the ground but said Venezuelan officials were agreeable to his demands – a sharp contrast to the defiant statements of officials in the hours after Maduro’s capture. Source
President Maduro and Venezuela’s senior military officers have demonstrated more than adequate equipment to repel air attacks, including large numbers of anti-aircraft missiles. In Q4 of 2025, Maduro stated that the Venezuelan army possessed more than 5,000 9K338 Igla-S man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS)”. Further, that these were dispersed in cities, towns, mountainous regions, in all parts of the country, meant to make Venezuelan territory impregnable. Also, that the military had thousands of trained operators who could immediately access and man these defenses. [35] Venezuela also has the Russian S-125-2M Pechora-2M air defense systems, and the even more advanced Russian defense systems: the S-300VM, the Buk-M2, and the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun systems. Plus of course, their Russian Su-30 fighter jets.
Yet somehow none of these defenses were used. As one Russian military website observed, “Videos are already circulating online showing American CH-53 Sea Stallion and CH-47 Chinook heavy transport helicopters, designed, among other things, for airborne assaults, flying unhindered over Caracas. None of the “thousands of operators” even attempt to shoot them down.” Moreover, the Venezuelan military had prepared extensively for precisely such an event, essentially a guerilla war. “So the question arises: why didn’t the Venezuelan army even attempt to put up any resistance to the American invasion?” [36] The most obvious, and apparent, answer is that there were no 300 US fighter aircraft over Caracas to shoot at, not even those piloted by “the most skilled aviators in the world”. You need only ask yourself WHY the US would have needed “300 aircraft from 20 bases” to drive to a man’s house and arrest him during dinner.
The Betrayal
During his January 3 press conference announcing the abduction of Maduro and his wife, Trump aggressively defended his decision to pardon Hernandez, claiming he’d been “persecuted very unfairly.” Yet the same DOJ prosecutor who authored the original 2020 indictment of Maduro, Trump loyalist Emil Bove, was responsible for the indictment of Hernandez. In contrast to the case against Maduro, the Hernandez indictment contained concrete evidence of his collaboration with major transnational cartels, including video and photographic exhibits, as Anya Parampil and Alexander Rubinstein detailed for The Grayzone. Sputnik International wrote in an article titled “Why Didn’t Venezuela Shoot Maduro’s Kidnappers Out of the Sky?“: “Glowing MSM reports on the operation to capture Maduro attribute success to the US military’s super-duper high-tech weapons, advanced tactics and painstaking planning. But there are other far more plausible explanations. The most provocative possibility is that “the kidnapping was a Trojan Horse operation. A US delegation accompanied by armed guards arrived at Maduro’s residence to discuss the parameters of a peace deal at a dinner, to conduct peace talks, to find common ground. This would explain the lack of incoming fire by Venezuelan air defenses on US helicopters.” [37] Sputnik also opined that “once inside, the delegation captured the President.”
At first glance, this might seem like a conspiracy theory to you, but all the evidence not emanating from Donald Trump strongly indicates that this is precisely what happened. Cyrus Janssen did a podcast with Larry Johnson, a long-time CIA agent and a renowned specialist in these geo-political affairs. Johnson, who still has many friends within the CIA and the US military says that the CIA co-opted Maduro’s chauffer and two of his bodyguards to betray him. See it at [38](1:38). For doing so, they were to receive the $50 million reward from Donald Trump and the US State Department. Johnson has done several podcasts with Cyrus and, in this video, he tells us he obtained the information from a friend in the CIA, the man who actually arranged this betrayal and offered the promise of the publicly-advertised cash reward. He says there was never any fantastic US military success in Maduro’s kidnapping, that it was all accomplished by treachery. [39] There is another video by Johnson that outlines more details. [40] An interesting sidelight to this affair is that once Maduro was in custody, Trump refused to pay the ransom. Johnson says “Trump is like a bad slot machine – you win but it doesn’t pay.
According to Johnson, the kidnapping of Maduro was a US move to control Venezuelan oil in preparation for a potential attack on Iran, and part of a larger strategy to maintain US (Jewish) dominance in global finance. US foreign policy (i.e. Jewish foreign policy) is driven by a desire to dominate and control resources. The indictment against Maduro contains no details, relying on “guilt by association”, suggesting it is merely a political document and not a list of crimes. [41] And he asks, “Is the US Crazy?”.
As a matter of fact, the CIA moles and the inside betrayal of Maduro are common knowledge outside the West’s mainstream media. The Internet is literally flooded with scores of media reports and testimony from diplomatic staff, of the real facts of Maduro’s abduction, and those reports mostly have it all correct. The Russian Ambassador to Venezuela said, “If we consider betrayal to be what happened here …, of course it was. And we know the names of these traitors who worked for the American special services and who fled Venezuela afterward.” He specifically said in an interview that he “knows the names” of those who conspired to betray Maduro. [42] [43] Colombia’s former Vice-President also stated all this openly – and bluntly – on Colombian national television. [44] MSN revealed that Venezuela’s Vice-President Rodríguez held secret meetings with Washington in Doha in the months leading up to the US military assault where Maduro was captured. [45] The Miami Herald, which claims strong contacts in Latin America, reported that Ms. Rodríguez had reached out to Washington to present herself as a “more acceptable” alternative to Maduro. [46]
There are many other media reports relaying essentially the same information. Among them, Haberler [47], Zaire’s Central News [48], a YouTube video [49], a London Times article [50], Colombia One [51], the InfoDefense Press [52]. Tass [53] and Pravda [54] [55] [56] [57] had several good articles covering the same details. Many of these refer to the UK Daily Mail who broke the story originally.
Epilogue

Just so it doesn’t go unsaid, Maduro was indeed the legitimate ruler of Venezuela, having won a popular election. It was the unelected Juan Guaido, the US (Jewish) favorite, who was illegitimate by every measure. There is no evidence that Maduro was ever involved in drug trafficking. None. Further, Every agency and expert monitoring the drug trade admits that Venezuela is irrelevant to this topic. And there is no such thing as “fentanyl-laced cocaine”
There is another matter that aroused my attention during the research for this article, relating to the accusatory description of Maduro. For example, the man was “the kingpin of a vast criminal network” who “sits atop a corrupt, illegitimate government”, and “leverages power” to “protect and promote illegal activity”. Well, excuse me for saying so, but this is nearly a perfect description of Donald Trump and of people like Benjamin Netanyahu. And the “leveraging power to protect and promote illegal activity” is a perfect description of the Jewish lobby in the US and elsewhere. It seems that every accusation the Jews make, is actually a confession. On this basis, it can be fervently hoped that “Trump and Netanyahu will not escape justice”, and that both will be “held accountable for their despicable crimes”.
As a side note, the media and White House had many references to Venezuela’s authoritarian President, but “authoritarian” means the repression of individual freedom of thought and action, and demanding blind submission to authority. Essentially, it is “My way or the highway”. It should be obvious to everyone that Donald Trump and Netanyahu fit this description far better than Maduro or Putin or Xi Jinping against whom they use these derogatory adjectives. It is not possible to sensibly challenge the assertion that the United States under Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist dictatorship. Led by a loon.
And, just so you know, there is no such thing as a “discombobulator”. Trump’s claims about being able to disable all Russian and Chinese air defense systems, is not only wishful thinking; it’s delusional.
Then, there is the small matter of Trump’s claim that the brave marines in Caracas were armed with “massive blowtorches” in case the steel walls of a safe room needed to be cut open. This claim has flaws similar to that of the satellite link mentioned earlier. Have you ever seen military flamethrowers? To operate this weapon, you need fuel, and that means carrying a huge oil container on your back. This is not the kind of handicap you need when on a Black Ops mission. And that’s only flamethrowers. A blowtorch for cutting metal also needs fuel and oxygen, but those gases are heavily compressed and require very strong – and very heavy – tanks to contain the pressure. Have you ever seen an oxygen tank used for welding? Like that. It weighs about 150 pounds empty and 200 pounds full. I’m guessing, but my guess is that not too many marines were running around Caracas carrying these.
There is also a small matter of overkill. Given the Trojan Horse and “seamless” abduction, how do we account for 300 aircraft taking off from “20 bases”? To do what? I don’t know if anything in Caracas was actually bombed from the air, or whether they used a few small explosions to cause a distraction. And it wasn’t Venezuelan air defense systems that were bombed as Trump claimed. Those explosions were in civilian and residential areas. When we examine the details, almost every small part of the official story is necessarily and provably false.
Lastly, a small but irritating item. Trump boasted that Operation Resolve was delayed for days, waiting for cloud cover to pass, the planes finally taking off when they had clear skies. Okay. But Trump’s version was that “the weather broke just enough, clearing a path that only the most skilled aviators in the world could move through”. What? If you have clear skies, a ten-year-old can navigate. We are being told that only the most skilled pilots in the world can fly in clear skies and sunshine. That should mean only the aged, incompetent, and infirm pilots can fly in rain and cloud and darkness. I don’t mean to be uncharitable, but my god, Donald Trump is so stupid.
