Earlier, the Russian defense ministry warned that it had intelligence indicating that militants in the beseiged terrorist-held Syrian province of Idlib had started making footage of fake 'chemical attacks' in an effort to discredit the Syrian government.

Russia's permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Alexander Shulgin has called on the organization not to allow provocations involving the use of chemical weapons in Idlib.

"[The OPCW] must bring its weight to bear on the matter and not allow this provocation to take place," Shulgin said, speaking to Ruptly. "A number of delegations have agreed with this view. We stressed that everything possible must be done to prevent a provocation," the official added.

On Tuesday, the Russian military reported that it had evidence to suggest that members of the controversial White Helmets rescue group were planning to film video footage "showing 'activists'…'helping' the residents of Jisr al-Shughur" in northwest Idlib following a fabricated attack by the Syrian army using so-called barrel bombs filled with poisonous substances. For this purpose, the military warned, militants had brought to containers filled with chlorine toxins to the area to make the provocation seem authentic.

'It's a Trap!'

According to the military, all footage showing provocations involving chemical weapons use in Jisr al-Shughur would be handed over to regional and international broadcasters, several of whom had sent video crews to the area, and be released on social media, by Tuesday evening.

Syrian and Russian officials have repeatedly warned about the dangers of new false flag provocations in Idlib, the last major stronghold of anti-government forces including Islamist terrorist groups, in recent weeks. Such fake attacks, they've said, would provide the US and its allies with a pretext to launch new attacks against Damascus. In late August, the Russian military reported on the deployment of US naval and air forces around Syria in the Mediterranean Sea and Qatar which could strike in the aftermath of any new provocations.

The US, the UK and France attacked Syria on April 14, 2018 in response to the Syrian military's alleged use of chemical weapons in East Ghouta. The 'evidence' used for that attack, which included video footage of members of the White Helmets 'treating victims' in a local hospital, has since been thoroughly discredited. Before that, on April 7, 2017, the US attacked Syria's Shayrat airbase following a similar provocation in Homs province.

The countries of the West used Israel to evacuate members of the White Helmets from southern Syria.  They couldn’t be allowed to fall into the hands of the Syrian government — at least, not while they are still alive.

Essential human-rights defenders

Damascus is almost finished liberating southwestern Syria. The military’s Operation Basalt was extremely successful, allowing them to regain control of the occupied provinces of Quneitra and Daraa(at present the Syrian army has only a small chunk of land left to liberate from the jihadists).  Many of the local gangs simply surrendered. Those militants who wanted to remain underwent a procedure of reconciliation with the authorities, while the others were put onto green buses and sent to Idlib.

However, those militants included some very valuable specimens — members of the “Syrian civil defense”, or, as they are more simply known, “the ​​White Helmets.” If they were taken prisoner, that would be a serious problem for the US and its allies, since the members of that organization might have a lot to say once they were in front of the cameras. And the damage caused by their statements would be far worse than the fallout over the admissions made by Hassan Diab — the boy the “helmets” named as a victim of a chemical attack in Douma, who admitted that the attack had been staged for the photographers. And it would be so much worse, simply because the White Helmets — or at least their leaders — knew so much more.

This is not Aleppo, Syria, but rather the streets of Europe where a “save Aleppo” protest was staged. Actors posing in fake dust and blood proved just how easy it is for anyone to create “war victims” anytime, anywhere.

The White Helmets have been the West’s most important weapon on the propaganda front of the Syrian war. They have acted as the local human-rights activists who have been snapping photos and shooting videos about the “chemical attacks” that that “bloody tyrant” has carried out against his own people. And based on precisely these facts, the US and its partners imposed sanctions against Damascus and have carried out acts of revenge in the form of attacks that would have been nothing less than carpet bombing, had Moscow not been careful to issue stern warnings about the consequences of these attacks.

Israel evacuates 800 “Clooneyite” White Helmets from Syria to Jordan for resettlement in the West

Editor’s note:  VT has been tracking this group, paid out of MI6 and CIA black funds, for years.  Their record is clear, staging phony terror attacks even when they had to hire crisis actors, something we have film evidence or, or doing the killing themselves.

At best, they kidnap and abuse children, sometimes returning them.

Israel has organized the transfer of 800 White Helmets and members of their families to Jordan at the request of several western countries, who expressed concern for their lives. Sputnik recalls facts about the infamous NGO, lauded in the West and accused of aiding jihadists in Syria by Damascus and Moscow.

White Helmets for the Camera

The Syrian Civil Defense or, as they are widely known, White Helmets is an NGO claiming to be tasked with rescuing Syrian civilians caught up in the middle of the fight between various groups in the Arab Republic. However, numerous interviews with local people, who've witnessed their work, as well as compromising camera footage, suggest that the organization only helps people when the cameras are rolling.

The behind-the-scenes video below, which surfaced online, shows exactly how the White Helmets shoot their "rescue operations," revealing that at least one of them was 100% staged.

Several bystanders, interviewed by journalists, claimed that when the NGO's members arrived at the bombing site, they only helped to unearth several victims from under the rubble, filming the process. After that they just gathered their equipment and left, telling the civilians they should dig up other victims by themselves.

Staged False Flag Attacks

Apart from apparently faking "rescue operations," the NGO has also been accused of staging false flag attacks by Moscow and Damascus. The White Helmets claim to report chemical attacks allegedly conducted by the Syrian Army, despite the country's weapons stockpiles having been destroyed long ago under the supervision of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

Nevertheless, the White Helmets reported an alleged chemical attack in Syrian Douma on April 7, 2018. The NGO published a video from a hospital, where the group's members purportedly "treated" the attack victims, including several underage patients, by pouring cold water on them and giving them an unknown medicine. The video ignited world-wide public outrage and resulted in the US, France and the UK launching an airstrike against Syrian forces, using the footage as a pretext.

It turned out, however, that it was a false flag attack and the video was largely staged. Russian investigative journalists found a boy from the video and his father who revealed the truth. They explained that there was no chemical attack, but instead that the White Helmets had just gathered several bystanders inside the hospital, promising to give them food in exchange for participating in their notorious video.

Later the boy and his father, as well as several employees from the hospital, who witnessed the whole ordeal, gave their testimonies to the OPCW and to the media during a special press conference, where they revealed all the details on how the fake video had been filmed.

Helping Al-Nusra and Non-Moderate Militants

Another disturbing fact about the White Helmets is that they have been spotted working alongside outright terrorist groups, such as al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front*. Not only NGO members were found in the same photos with terrorist group fighters, but they even worked in the same or neighboring buildings.

For example, Bolivian filmmaker, actress and activist Carla Ortiz, who has traveled across Syria, said that in many cities local schools were turned into headquarters for al-Nusra Front*, which at the same time, shared them with the White Helmets.

A day after the US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley threatened to take unilateral action in Syria in the aid of the Takfiri terrorist occupiers of Eastern Ghouta, Russia stated that any such attack on Damascus, which could put Russian lives in danger, would be met with a forceful response.

The Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov has stated that Russia is aware that the al-Qaeda aligned White Helmets propaganda organisation plans to stage a false flag chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta and blame it on the Syrian Arab Army. This is set to be the justification for a US missile strike on the Syrian capital that was all but promised by Nikki Haley during yesterday’s meeting of the UN Security Council.

Gerasimov stated,

“According to reports, after the false flag attack, the US plans to accuse the Syrian government troops of using chemical weapons, and to provide the world community with the so-called ‘evidence’ of the alleged mass death of civilians at the hands of the Syrian government and Russia supporting it”. 

He continued saying that Russia would respond to any US attacks, including a missile attack in the aftermath of the false flag which Gerasimov explained is already in its preparatory stages,

“We have reliable information about militants preparing to falsify a government chemical attack against civilians. In several districts of Eastern Ghouta, a crowd was assembled with women, children and old people, brought from other regions, who were to represent the victims of the chemical incident.

Despite constant attempts by militants to disrupt peace initiatives in Eastern Ghouta, the situation in the suburb of Damascus shows a trend toward stabilization. Since the entry into force of UN Security Council Resolution 2401 of February 24, 2018, [a total of] 145 civilians and 13 representatives of armed opposition, including 76 people overnight, have been withdrawn from Eastern Ghouta through the humanitarian corridor created by the Russian Federation”.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also warned of “grave consequences” against a US attack on Damascus. Lavrov said,

“If a new strike of this kind takes place, the consequences will be very serious. Mrs. Haley should understand that it is one thing to irresponsibly exploit the microphone in the UN Security Council and it is another thing when both the Russian and American militaries have communication channels and it is clearly stated via these channels what can be done and what must not be done.

The US-led coalition knows well about that. When, against the backdrop of an obvious failure to implement resolution 2401, in as much as it concerns militants and their sponsoring West, new resolutions are put forward under the pretext that it is Russia, Iran and the Syrian government that have failed to provide for the requirements of the previous resolution while Mrs. Haley makes a statement that the US is, of course, a peaceful nation but it may at any time deliver a strike against the forces in the Syrian Arab Republic, as they did a year ago by striking the Shayrat airbase, I simply don’t have any normal terms left to describe all this”.
