The readers at the international-news site South Front tend to be technologically far more knowledgeable about the internet than most people (including myself) are, and so their responses to a news-report that I did on December 17th, titled “Former NSA Tech Chief Says Mueller Report Was Based on CIA-Fabricated ‘Evidence’”, not only corrected a misspelling of a particular spoken acronym (my “PHAT” there should have been spelled “FAT”) but they also explained some technological details which enable a deeper understanding of how the CIA had perpetrated the ‘Russiagate’ hoax that Robert Mueller in his report as the U.S. Special Counsel had asserted to be a “Russiagate” fact (i.e., Mueller’s allegations that the Russian Government had hacked computers of the Democratic National Committee). Especially informative there was this reader-comment, which comes from one of the world’s leading experts on cyber technology, Luke Herbert-Hansen:

As everyone knows who has been closely following the most-reliable evidence regarding the question of how DNC emails had been copied and supplied to Wikileaks, there has been much credible, soundly-sourced, speculation that the DNC employee Seth Rich had physically copied the data from a computer there onto a thumb drive (or “USB stick”), which then was picked up in the U.S. by a Wikileaks agent, who physically delivered it to Julian Assange at London’s Ecuadorean Embassy. The great independent investigative journalist (virtually barred since 2007 from being published in the U.S. anymore), Seymour Hersh, personally investigated the records of the murder of Seth Rich, both at the Washington DC police and at the FBI, and this is from the transcript I had made of his statement in a Web-posted phone-call [my boldfaces for emphasis]:

Everybody who has been “in the business” has sources and contacts that other do not, especially when it comes to inquiries into federal agencies running their own operations inside a government bureaucracy “off the books” so to speak.

If something is going on inside an agency like this, whisper campaigns develop trying to collect enough clues to be on the lookout possibly for one’s own agency being involved and learning how to not get any mud splashed on oneself.

As we head into the new year, after the holiday respite, 2020 promises already to be one hell of a slug fest political battle where no one will be holding anything back to use “later”. They have an old saying for this, “Use it, or lose it.”

I have not seen this controversy presented in the detail that Phil has brought to the table below, his own views, but a professional analysis which I knew our readers would want to see and evaluate on their own. So here it is… Jim W. Dean ]

There is considerable evidence that the American system of government may have been victimized by an illegal covert operation organized and executed by the U.S. intelligence and national security community.

Former Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director Jim Comey appear to have played critical leadership roles in carrying out this conspiracy and they may not have operated on their own.

Almost certainly what they may have done would have been explicitly authorized by the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, and his national security team.

It must have seemed a simple operation for the experienced CIA covert action operatives. To prevent the unreliable and unpredictable political upstart Donald Trump from being nominated as the GOP presidential candidate or even elected it would be necessary to create suspicion that he was the tool of a resurgent Russia, acting under direct orders from Vladimir Putin to empower Trump and damage the campaign of Hillary Clinton.

Even though none of the alleged Kremlin plotters would have expected Trump to actually beat Hillary, it was plausible to maintain that they would have hoped that a weakened Clinton would be less able to implement the anti-Russian agenda that she had been promoting.

Many observers in both Russia and the U.S. believed that if she had been elected armed conflict with Moscow would have been inevitable, particularly if she moved to follow her husband’s example and push to have both Georgia and Ukraine join NATO, which Russia would have regarded as an existential threat.

Well the gloves have certainly come off now. No former top security government official has even made such damning statements about a sitting president as ex-CIA head John Brennan did last week. And this was not a Trump-style off-the-cuff tweet, but an MSNBC feature news interview.

Brennan would have certainly prepped his own kitchen cabinet for feedback before taking such a major step. The unsaid was that he was literally hanging a target on Trump, that he must be removed from office as a security risk.

Ex-CIA directors have a small circle they hang out with to discuss current events, so what Brennan said here is not just his opinion. He made this big splash by putting it out so publicly, indicating that there is a following in the US top Intelligence echelons who feel this way.

It comes as no surprise to us at Veterans Today, as oldtimers in the Intel community from the Cold War days were in shock when Trump won the election, since he had no experience in government, military, or geopolitical affairs. We assumed he would make up for that by faking it, which he has done all his life, having started by building his real estate business with the help of the New York Italian mob and his “fixer” lawyer, Roy Cohn.

The allegations of ‘Russian meddling’ only make sense if they’re put into a broader geopolitical context. Once we realize that Washington is implementing an aggressive “containment” strategy to militarily encircle Russia and China in order to spread its tentacles across Central Asian, then we begin to understand that Russia is not the perpetrator of the hostilities and propaganda, but the victim. The Russia hacking allegations are part of a larger asymmetrical-information war that has been joined by the entire Washington political establishment. The objective is to methodically weaken an emerging rival while reinforcing US global hegemony.

Try to imagine for a minute, that the hacking claims were not part of a sinister plan by Vladimir Putin “to sow discord and division” in the United States, but were conjured up to create an external threat that would justify an aggressive response from Washington. That’s what Russiagate is really all about.

O Almirante William H. McRaven apresentou ao Secretário da Defesa, a sua demissão

do Conselho Consultivo da Inovação.

Este Conselho foi criado em 1996, pelo Secretário da Defesa, Ash Carter, a fim de tirar o melhor partido das indústrias inovadores de Silicon Valley. Agrupa personalidades da Internet e militares de alta patente.

O Almirante McRaven entrou em oposição frontal com o Presidente Trump, após a revogação deste último, da Habilitação de Segurança ou seja, do acesso aos Serviços Secretos e de Defesa do antigo Director da CIA, John Brennan. Ele publicou, nessa ocasião, um artigo a solicitar a rescisão da sua própria Habilitação de Segurança. Este texto foi publicado pelo Washington Post [1] no mesmo dia em que antigos altos funcionários dos Serviços Secretos também publicaram um texto a apoiar Brennan [2].

O Almirante McRaven tornou-se célebre ao conduzir a operação Tridente de Neptuno (Neptune’s Spear). Teria, supostamente, assassinado Osama Bin Laden na sua casa, em Abbottabad, no Paquistão. Esta operação, encenada pelo Presidente Barack Obama, foi vivamente contestada pelo Paquistão. Primeiro, porque foi levada a cabo, violando a soberania desse país e, em seguida, porque Osama Bin Laden não residia em Abbottabad, mas morreu no Afeganistão, em Dezembro de 2001. Na altura,o  Almirante McRaven chefiou as Forças Especiais (US SOCOM). Como tal, foi ouvido em audiência pelo Congresso e revelou, orgulhosamente,  comandar assassinatos políticos em 78 países, em todo o mundo. O Presidente Obama encarregou McRaven de formar uma rede com as Forças Especiais Aliadas, de maneira a poder assassinar qualquer pessoa, em qualquer lugar do mundo, em menos de 48 horas. [4]

John O. Brennan percorreu uma longa carreira na CIA até se tornar Director da mesma (2013-17). Desenvolveu, consideravelmente, o programa de assassinatos por drones da Agência. Neste contexto, trabalhou em estreita colaboração com o Almirante McRaven. No entanto, entrou em conflito com o General Michael T. Flynn, dos Serviços Secretos Militares. Designado como primeiro Conselheiro de Segurança Nacional, do Presidente Trump, Flynn mandou, imediatamente, demitir Brennan e tentou reorganizar a CIA, dando prioridade às missões de Serviços Secretos humanos e não mais liquidar os seus inimigos. Então, Brennan liderou a luta política contra Flynn e Trump, acusando-os de serem agentes russos. A sua Habilitação de Segurança foi revogada em 15 de Agosto de 2018.

Ever since Dwight Eisenhower in the 1950s, every American president has held one or more summit meetings with the Kremlin leader, first and foremost in order to prevent miscalculations that could result in war between the two nuclear superpowers. Generally, they received bipartisan support for doing so. In July, President Trump continued that tradition by meeting with Russian President Putin in Helsinki, for which, unlike previous presidents, he was scathingly criticized by much of the US political-media establishment. John Brennan, CIA director under President Obama, however, went much further, characterizing Trump’s press conference with Putin as “nothing short of treasonous.” Presumably, in reaction, Trump revoked Brennan’s security clearance, the continuing access to classified information usually accorded to former security officials. In the political-media furor that followed, Brennan was mostly heroized as an avatar of civil liberties and free speech, and Trump traduced as their enemy. 

Leaving aside the missed occasion to discuss the “revolving door” involving former US security officials using their permanent clearances to enhance their lucrative positions outside government, Cohen thinks the subsequent political-media furor obscures what is truly important and perhaps ominous:

Brennan’s allegation was unprecedented. No such high-level intelligence official had ever before accused a sitting president of treason, still more in collusion with the Kremlin. (Impeachment discussions of Presidents Nixon and Clinton, to take recent examples, did not include allegations involving Russia.) Brennan clarified his charge: “Treasonous, which is to betray one’s trust and to aid and abet the enemy.” Coming from Brennan, a man presumed to be in possession of related dark secrets, as he strongly hinted, the charge was fraught with alarming implications. Brennan made clear he hoped for Trump’s impeachment, but in another time, and in many other countries, his charge would suggest that Trump should be removed from the presidency urgently by any means, even a coup. No one, it seems, has even noted this extraordinary implication with its tacit threat to American democracy. (Perhaps because the disloyalty allegation against Trump has been customary ever since mid-2016, even before he became president, when an array of influential publications and writers—among them a former acting CIA director—began branding him Putin’s “puppet,” “agent,” “client,” and “Manchurian candidate.” The Los Angeles Times even saw fit to print an article suggesting that the military might have to remove Trump if he were to be elected, thereby having the very dubious distinction of predating Brennan.)
